A proposed rule to reduce the frequency of unnecessary idling of trucks continues to get attention in the West Virginia Senate. Even though drivers idling their trucks while sleeping or resting would be exempt from the rule, OOIDA says other concerns need to be addressed.

A nonprofit outfit under fire in its home state of Oregon is distributing federal grant money for trucking businesses in New England. Oregon-based Cascade Sierra Solutions sells truck equipment aimed at cutting emissions and improving aerodynamics, and has previously distributed various state grant moneys in Oregon and California.
