DOT shutdown: What else was in the bill?

The House and Senate were hard at work Tuesday, trying to get something passed to get the U.S. Department of Transportation and its agencies back to work as soon as possible. The DOT shutdown and employee furloughs began after midnight on Tuesday, March 2, triggered by the Senate’s failure to pass a routine funding extension this past Friday. Transportation programs have been surviving on a series of temporary extensions since September 2009.
